Eagle's New Video

Like most small hospitals, Flaget Memorial in Bardstown, Kentucky has no full-time hospitalist in the hospital at night. That used to mean night calls. When a patient needed a doctor, a nurse practitioner would contact the physician on call, often after midnight, for consultation by phone and a drive to the hospital if necessary. Not perfect, but the best option when a full-time physician at night isn’t practical.

With nighttime telehospitalist coverage from Eagle Telemedicine (http://www.eagletelemedicine.com/) at Flaget Memorial Hospital, patients get the expert care they need, when they need it. It’s far better than having a doctor on the phone with a nurse in the middle of the night, with nothing to go on but voice. With telemedicine, a physician works the full shift – interacting with nurses, doctors, patients and families, with two-way audio/video in collaboration with the patients' nurse.
