October marks the one year anniversary of Eagle's TeleStroke program at South Fulton Medical Center. Eagle Hospital Physicians in partnership with South Fulton Medical Center and Georgia TeleNeurology are celebrating a successful year in the care of acute stroke and neurology patients at South Fulton Medical Center. Since October 2009 over 200 patients have been admitted to the stroke program and 11 patients have received tPA.

With the teamwork of the nursing and medical staff, the TeleNeurologists and the leadership of Eagle's Hospitalist Medical Director and Stroke Center Medical Director - Karim Godamunne, this program has been a success. In June 2009 the South Fulton team earned their Joint Commission certification as a primary stroke center and continue to provide excellent care to the community.
